26 Mar 2007 - CAFOD Fundraising Sucess

During the week 26th-30th, St. Patrick's Primary was a bustle of activtiy at playtime and lunchtime. Something more than the usual playground games were happening!

Year 6 pupils had spent several weeks planning a variety of fundraising activties. These included making and selling cakes, biscuits and sweets. Some children donated toys for sale that they no longer played with. Competitions were organised including "Guess the teacher's teddy",design a t-shirt and the popular "Draw on John" game.

It was refreshing to see some new stalls this year including the freshly popped popcorn and extremely tasty milkshakes from the milkshake stand.
All children in Year 6 should be congratulated for their enthusiasm and committment to the events. They conducted themselves maturely and supported each other to raise a record total of just over £530. The children are now busy deciding which projects they would like to support with the money they have raised.

Gwyn Class pupils would like to thank all who supported their groups and hope you enjoyed the stalls, games and competitions.

We would also like to give our genuine thanks to the parents who gave so generously of their time, not to mention their cooking skills! This year's event couldn't have been so successful without your support.
